I have a blue tang, porcupine puffer, clown trigger, and maroon clown. Guess who is the meanest.
The TANG! He keeps nipping the puffer and trigger. I am thinking of getting rid of it and the clown since im leaving to college, itll lighten the bioload for my family to take care of. But i have had the tang since it was a baby.
What would you do?

Get rid of the tang like your gut is telling you.

The lower bioload will help keep the tank untill you can take it back.

Congrats on school.

I would get rid of all of your fish and tear down the tank while you're away at school. A Clown Trigger and a Porcupine Puffer in a 50 gallon???:eek2:

Puffers are often a target for nippy fish, but I have a feeling he won't be messing with the Trigger for much longer.

this is my second year at school, I have had my puffer and tang live away from me last year, they have been there a few years, no money to upgrade yet but will happen, Im not going to tear it down. Just recently got the clown trigger for free a nice lady gave it to me. its sweet and would love to keep him for when I upgrade, but I think I will get rid of the tang and clown sadly

The Clown Trigger may seem "sweet" now but it will become a terror. They are not community fish by any means and unless you're planning on upgrading to a 200+ gallon tank with only large really nasty fish that will beat the snot out of one another I would find him a new home.

My only advice is to upgrade as fast as possible. No tang should be permanently housed in a 50 gallon.

Ya no doubt I definitely am looking into it, I am just in a hard spot. How much do you think I can get for a 50 gallon and oak stand, 96 watt pc, 10 gallon sump, berlin classic skimmer?

Maybe $250 if you're lucky

The chances of you getting a 200+ gallon tank and stand for anywhere near that are slim to none.

I paid $300 for my 210 stand and canopy, so it is possible.
