I know most of the TOTM tanks are SPS dominated but I was talking with Jerry about how really cool soft corals are last night and I wanted to share a few of my favorites with everyone. These two TOTM tanks prove that a soft coral tank can be just as colorful and beautiful as any SPS dominated tank out there. Check it out…

Also here is another really nice soft coral tank owned by a company called C.P.Farm

If you know of any other nice soft coral tanks out there feel free to post some photos here. I don’t know about anyone else but these photos give me some great ideas for my new 65 gallon tank :)

Very very cool. I have been thinking of switching gears and goiung to a softie dominated scheme. These photos are inspiring. I love the movement and textures of softie tanks. The colored stick forest sps look is starting to get old.

Yeah, Thanks for pics Nate, I have been considering going soft corals also.
That last pic is what I have planned for the 900 when it becomes a reality.

I can'gt stop looking at the cpfarm tank. I'll just need to brush up on my japanese. The aquascaping is very Japanese. Almost Zen like. Like a japanese lanscape painting. I wonder how they keep that dendronepthia alive. The huge chromi pod is very cool as well.

I dont have any big SPS but I do have some soft corals. To the novice, the soft corals draw their attention.

Don't get it twisted, my tank doesnt even look one quarter as nice as the reflections.

I love Olliereefer and CMans tanks. Anguswus has nice color but looks completely unatural IMO. Where are you finding these great mixed tanks from? More and more I see myself heading in that direction, keeping a few of my fave sps's and the rest a mix of softies and LPS.

I found Anguswus’s and Scythanith's tanks on the LPS fourm and Olliereefer and CMan were both TOTM from a while back. If you like mixed reefs this is probably one of my favorites of all time…

I wanted to say hi and thanks for the ideas. I have a 150g on order and have always liked the soft corals, they seem more alive. Your thread on the zoo tank has been a help in planning my new tank. I only wish I had come across this group sooner, it would have been fun to help set up the zoo tank. The zoo tank is where I believe I met drbronx and he told me about the group.

Welcome to STRS BSamuelson! Did Jerry (drbronx) give you a behind the scenes tour at the zoo? Lots of local reef keepers worked together on that tank and I think it came out really nice! It would probably give you lots of ideas for your new 150. Well anyway welcome to the club

I really like the C.P tank I think because of the symmetry and unclutteredness ....It is more aesthetically pleasing because of that I think.

Welcome BSamuelson to STRS

I would love to see how the tank is set up and maintained. I would be able to make it the 3rd, 4th or 5th after 5pm, just let me know when is best and I can meet you there.

Thanks,

This is Joe hiding below a few polyps.

Thanks for the new photos Nate. That is the coolest softy display I've seen yet. Imagine how mesmerizing it would be to watch the movement in that display. You can never have that with sps!
