I am looking to get some neat and fairly active reef safe crabs and what not maybe a cucumber of sorts. I have a 30 with 2 inches of live sand and i think around 20 something pounds of LR. I am thinking of a cleaner again. i bought one and didn't acclimate it right or had bad water or something and it died withing hours so i might try one of those again. i have about a dozen hermits and a brittle star if that helps to rule out somethings. i think i might just go to the lfs and buy what looks cool. but i would rather have an idea of what i should get to do some research. probably something to stir the sand a bit or something really odd or colorful. might go for a pistol shrimp for my ywg. so any suggestion would help out a bit.

For the sand bed you could get super tongan nassarius snails. They are larger and bright white. They pop up out of the sand bed and cruise around. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?pCatId=1763. Queen conch or fighting conch would also work well for sifting

I agree on snails, if you already have hermits then you are set with crabs.... a few of those go a long way.
I would get a mix of snails and a cleaner shrimp.

Those snails grow way too big for your system.
