I have upgraded my lighting on my Oceanic 33 cube from a 150 Watt DE HQI 14K Giesman bulb with two 24" T5 AO3 bulbs to a new Luminarc 3 Mini with a 250 watt DE HQI 20K Giesman bulb.
I started with the luminarc fisture 18" above the highest SYS corals in the tank and I lowered it about 1" each week for the last two weeks. here is my question.
How fast should I lower the new 250 into its new home position. I don't really know how much different the PAR output would be with the luminarc fixture and teh 250 DE bulb form the old fixture with the parabolic style reflector. I don't want to sunburn anyone but also don't want to have all my SPS go through a light deprivation cycle while I do this light lowering cycle.
Anyone want to offer an opinion?
