Tar style ballast.

Champion lighting has a 240W PFO ballast for sale.
They describe it as a tar style ballast.

I am only familiar with magnetic and electric.
Does tar refer to the firing style of the ballst or something? Somebody please explain.

Also, how are PFo ballasts? Similar to Icecap in quality?
And how ore the PFO pendants.

I am pretty sure the tar style ballasts are magnetic. Magnetic just sounds nicer to the ear. :)
