I recently started my own green water culture. It is going nicely in a 10 gallon aquarium and I think it is about ready to "harvest". I'm wondering how much of this culture should be added to a 75 gallon reef tank. I know that it is not as concentrated as DTs, but it's so hard for me to get a steady supply of DTs, and it's so expensive (online or in the story--if you can even find it). Any suggestions for feeding this?

When I had my culture going I used to take out about a cup for my 50g and spot feed some of it to certain corals and then just dump the rest of the cup in for any other filter feeders.
Not sure if that was enough for my tank but I was always very cautious about adding too much after seeing my friends tank turn completely green. (Though that incident was unrelated to feeding cultured green water)

I do about a cup a day, sometimes more when i remember. What strain are you cultureing? Are you spliting the culture or are you just going to feed it all?

I plan to split the culture. I want to keep it going as long as possible. As far as strain, I'm not sure. I was holding some glass shrimp for feeding and I added a little algae food from Florida Aqua Farms by mistake. I meant to add some RotiFeast. The next thing I knew I had green water and the glass shrimp are thriving, too.
I did have a culture of Isochrisis (?) that I got from Florida Aqua Farms, so I may just leave this one going for the shrimp and start another from culture I bought specifically for the corals.
