Is there any bulb company that manufactures a true 150w 14k HQI lamp? For example the Pheonix 14k is referred to by some as a 20k. The AB 10k is really 13k. Whats the Hammy 14k? Any help, or someone with info. The CCT values of 14k bulbs are not present on Sanjays site.

the kelvin rating on almost all bulbs is not correct. Kelvins can be as much as 35% higher than listed

Yeah they are.

If the CCT is listed as 0, its generally a 20K+ bulb.

Thanks SD for the info.

Thanks Rich, but its not there for 150w DE MH lamps. The only bulb listed with that Kelvin is the Aquaconnect. The CCT is 0 which means it has no value. There are CCT values for certain 250w DE MH, which I'm not interested in and does me no good.

no, it does not. A CCT of 0 means that it is above the readable scale, which means 20K+

0 is 0, readable or unreadable. If it is unknown, beyond the readable scale, then it should be listed as "?" and not given a numerical value. I know what you mean though.

I believe that Rich is right. That Sanjay listed the CCT of those bulbs who's color temperature was higher than the test equipments ability to determine as "0". If the upper limit of the equipment was 20000K then the 0's are higher than that. Maybe he should have used a "?" but that's apparently not what he did.

In terms of wanting a 150 watt DE that is truly 14000K I dont think you will get any closer than the XM 15000K 150 watt DE.
Sanjay tested it at just over 14000K on electonic ballast (IceCap) and at over 13000K on the magnetic HQI ballast (PFO). Both values for the shielded bulb. I think that trying to find anything closer is splitting hairs. It's right at your target on an electronic ballast.

BTW, the Aqualine 10000 150 watt DE measures at a little under 11000K, shielded. 13000K is the unshielded value.

If its on sanjay's page, and a graph is available, and the CCT is listed as 0, then it is a 20K bulb
