Bought a pair of clowns three months ago. They seemed fine till Ifoubd one on it's side breathing hard.I left well enough alone but a few hours later he was under cave in live rock on side breathing hars. I've removed him and after tearing tank apart to get at him and took care of him if you know whatI mean. No visable signs of him being sick . Maybe should of let nature take it's course but it would of fouled tank. What would you have done. Can I add a new clown or will they fight?

I would wait a month before adding any fish. Were the clowns a mated pair? What kind of clowns were they? You did the right thing by removing him.

Mated means they were male and female and would eventually mate.
