View Full Version : Testing my 180 tank for Mg, KH, and Ca.

i tested my water today and got 2200ppm for my Mg, i got 375 for my Ca, and 8 dkH for my KH. are these results good for my tank or should i adjust any of them? I am using a Elos test kit

2200 ppm of Mg sounds like a testing error. That number should be around 1300 ppm. The other numbers are reasonable. This article covers all the water parameters:

Thanks. My first time using a test kit. My PH is @ 7.95 (Low ) Any advise.

That's a bit low, but not enough to be a problem. pH is lowest in the morning, before the lights go on, usually, so that's a good time to test.

My system is new. I don't have any lighting yet My Virgin, Only been running for a month. Sand,LR & 5 Cromis .
