amiracle 200 filter

I recently got a 100g truvu tank and it came with a amiracle 200 filter system, the hang on pre filter does not fit on the back of the tank, can i connect the overflow directly to the filter system and skip the pre filter? would the flowrate be too fast? what type of return pump would i need? i also need lighting options, i plan on a reef tank, the tank came with 2 black hoods that covers the openings, right now i have a canopy over the tank, whats my best option for lights? should i use the hoods or can i put lights on the lid of the canopy?

amiracle 200 filter system is this a hang on the back filter or a wet and dry filter under the tank ?

it has a prefilter that works with a hangon overflow, but i think its the wet/dry kind because it has a sump box and bio balls, i will take pictures tomorrow, thanks!
