Has anybody drilled a 55gallon purchased from walmart? I don't know if it is tempered or not.

How much did you pay for the 55 at walmart if you don't mind me asking?

actually I have drilled their 10 gal. with luck but it isn't easy because of the thin glass. one why to check is get 2 polarized lenses place 1 on each side of the glass and you should see like little ballas in the glass if it is. do it with your car window first to see what tempered glass looks like first.

Right now the WM 55 gallon is 158, which includes the fluorescent hood, hang on filter, heater and other odds n ends. It's a good deal for a FW setup, but for SW you'd be ahead probably to get the tank by itself somewhere.

OK gotcha, I thought it might be tempered. I payed 160 ish for it. It was an OK deal at the time but the HOB filter was junk. All and all not bad though. Thanks for the advise.
