I've had a flower pot coral for about 1 month. About 2 weeks ago I found a long brown/white striped worm in it. Since then it hasn't opened. I caught the worm and got rid of it. I don't believe its dying, its still bright green and I can't see any dead polyps.

I've got it in a med-high flow area. I have it under 2x175w MHs and 2x96w dual-actinics and I feed it DTs 1-2x per week.

I know there difficult to keep but it was doing so good until that worm.

Any ideas??!?!

Try putting it in an area of your tank with less flow. I doubt that the worm had anything to do with it. Goni tend to not like high flow since their polyps are so long. They like a little bit so that things are getnly waving, but anything more then that and they get upset.

I would try feeding it with cyclop-eeze or even reef-roids which were developed especially for goniopora. I also agree that if you do have the green goniopora variety then moderate current is recommended over strong.

Ok, I'll move it to a different spot and feeding some cyclo-eeze.

Its just so odd that it was fully open for the 1st 2 weeks I had it, then I find the worm and it hasn't opened since.

Thanks for the info!!
