As the title says, I have problem with pump running like there's no air to venturi. Basically, skimmer creates no to very little bubbles with lots of flow.

I clean the pump and the venturi opening very recently by soaking the unit in vinega solution. The frequency for this to happen is so often. Sometimes i have to blow into the silicone tube to the venturi to clear so that the skimmer goes back to working condition.

I have to do this like couple times a week. Any ideas on how to fix this for the skimmer to be consistent with micro bubble production?

is this the original pump with the cs6-1? if so it's probably a few years old. have you checked the pump impellar well to see if it is scarred or scratched up? or the bearings inside the impellar may need a deeper cleaning, did you heat the vinegar in the microwave first before you soaked?? have you drilled out the venturi line with a 3/16 drill bit?

also, a sedra 5000 would probably work on there a little better too if you wind up replacing your pump.

that would help, and the other thing you can do is put a stockmann standpipe w/ gate valve on the outlet, then make a hole above the tee on the standpipe for the air line, then stick the airline into the standpipe. then put a cap on the top of the standpipe and drill another hole for air to escape. this way the air line is sucking in wet air from just above the outlet and it helps melt the salt creep out of the venturi.
