they have been touching for a couple days now.

Generally, I wouldn't think having two LPS so close would be a good idea, but it's usually pretty obvious if they're harming each other. You'll probably get some differing opinions, and mine is probably not as good as some, but for academic reasons, I'd probably just keep an eye on them. If there's not tissue death or recession, I'd probably leave them. Any damage done over the course of a day or two should not be permanent. Of course, the safe thing to do would be to separate them now if possible.
