how long should T5 actenics last? I got mine in april and they seem to have lost a bit of umph.. running 12 hr days

I would say at least a year before they lose their usefulness. There is no way to tell with out a lux meter and measuring along the way, but 4-5 months is way to short to be noticably dropping off IMO.
