I spent last week in Tahoe with my family. It was my parents 50th anniversary so much of our schedule was planned out but I still managed to be up for sunrise most mornings.

Those pictures are beautiful. It's nice to see there are some parts of the world that are not polluted and overcrowded by people...not many places like that left.

LOL, Beergut.... That one's officially never going away.

Doug.. I'm going to go out on a limb here. These photos seem to lack your usual razor sharpness. You didn't bring out the 28-135mm, did you?

Nope, I sold that POS. :)

Many of those were composed in very low light. They were long exposures and there was wind to contend with.

Also, if I post an image with just that simple white frame, no drop shadow, it hasn't been through my normal post processing routine. Those are just simple export/resize from RAW; i.e. no sharpening added at all. You can generally see the difference between those and the images with the drop shadow frame.

Excelent pictures. Great everything. I like the last one you posted the best. And would have to say that I would have liked to have seen a picture of the third to last picture in color.

Thanks.

The "black and white" pictures were shot with an infrared camera. They were not taken in color and then converted to black and white.

Nice pictures beerguy.
Did you use a GND for the sunrise/set pictures?

Thanks.

Yes - I used a Singh-Ray, Galen Rowell, 2 stop, soft line, split grad on several of those shots.

Nice, I just got my Singh Ray 3SS GND, but I haven't had a chance to take pictures with it yet.
Once again, beautiful pictures!
