Not having a reactor yet, I needed to grab something quickly this past weekend after noticing my DI resin needed changing a few weeks ago.

Noticing some brown-outs, I went and picked this stuff up at the LFS.

I rinsed, and rinsed until the cows came home, placed it in a low-flow section of my sump, and the next day, I found I had unusually cloudy water and a skimmer full of white foam (for those that don't know, the Phos-Zorb product is white).

What's the deal with this stuff? I've rinsed it several more times, placed it in the lowest flow area I can find, and even then, I get the same result.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Sounds like the flow was just too much for the phos-zorb and it sure makes a mess.

This is why I always used a reactor with my phosban.

I think i've found a temporary, ghetto-rigged solution.

More or less, a cheap, DIY trickle plate through carbon utilizing an old Mrs. Wages canister fed from my overflow with a gate valve relegating the flow to a mere slow drip.

That is, until I order the TLF reactor and Phosban.
