adding LS to the tank

Is there a good way to add LS to the tank without causing a sandstorm?

There are a couple of ways, but one of the easiest I've used is to fill a big pop bottle with my sand, put the cap on it, and then put the bottle in the tank. Get the mouth of the bottle close to where you want the sand to go, and take the cap off. Slowly pour it out. It helps if you turn off your water pumps and powerheads too.
