I am considering one of these for a 180 gal because of the compact size and good reviews. Looking at the specs for each it seems the only difference is the size of the collection cup. I was wondering if that is the case should I just go with the 9010 and use the 100 bucks saved to get foam extrction kit?

Thx in advance for any suggestions.

That is correct, if you would prefer the foam extractor over the cup then the 9010 and foam extractor is the way to go.

Thx Roger, and you think the 9010 is good for a 180 gal. I guess if I really get a heavy load later on I could always get a second 9010 if needed. I have 2 refugium/sumps.

As long as an SPS tank is not the goal it should be fine. It is probably underpowered for a high fish load and SPS.

Maybe I should just go for the 9020?

It is up to you, it is really the same as two 9010's with foam extractors working in tandem so your other plan to add another later would be no different.
