Got my DI unit, YEAH my TDS is showing ZERO . My input from the R/O is about 17 and my nasty tap water is 220-450.

About how long till I see some color change in the resin ? I assume the color change will start on the bottom ?

Can you drink DI ? Not that I would waste it like that as my DI ouput is on a line with a valve, not up to my faucet.

Kudos to the packing and fast shipping, all though the shipping cost is about as high as the standard of packing. I'd prefer $7 S/H and some used newspaper.:D

Your color change will be fairly fast with no CO2 you would get about 300 gallons per cartridge and color will start at the bottom. DI water doesn't taste good because of the lack of ions and is not healthy for you if you have health issues or for children.

Shipping is no longer a cheap thing due to the high cost of fuel and extra $4+ rural and small town charges are a killer.

How or why would you add CO2 ?

And the lack of ION is ok for the reef ?

And why not just charge those who live in the boonies the extra $4 ?

CO2 is the most common issue besides TDS it is very common in low pH water has not TDS reading and exhausts resin very quickly. We see it most often in well water municipal or other wise.

Lack of ions is perfect for top off you are adding nothing back into the water and for saltwater you are making synthetic seawater.

We never know what is off route for UPS until the package is shipped. Three of our UPS yesterday were off route and we just bite the bullet on the extra charge as it's to late.

Wells ? In this part of Texas all that comes out of wells is Natural Gas and Oil. Our shallow lakes are now giving me 540PPM out of the tap, but RO still holding it to 17PPM .

Your getting about 97% rejection rate from your membrane which is normal.
