Mysid shrimp is fairly high in phosphorous (1.4%). Table shrimp is one third to one half that.

It only takes 24 mg of phosphate to raise a typical 67G tank .1 ppm.

Thats just 1.7g of mysid, or feeding table shrimp 4.5 grams ( both dry.

If P was your algae limiting nutrient, you could in theory double your bioload just by changing food. In practice it obviously isn't that simple, however it is step in the right direction.

What other low phosphorous alternatives are out there?
