Just wanted to say that I got a very well packed, healthy and eating Goldflake angelfish today from Reefhotspot.com .
They made sure that he was in at least a gallon of water with lots of oxygen. Nice job. They seem to have a lot of hard to find fish and are nice to deal with on the phone. I think I got the last Goldflake angel in the entire US as no other sites has them on line at this time.

A place called Just Rare Fish has them but the one I got from them was very stressed during shipping as there was not enough water or air for the size of the fish. The fish was sticking his whole head of the water gasping for air when I got him and I called the owner up and he said that is normal, which it is not. I asked him what type of air he put in the bag and he just said air and not pure oxygen like a lot of professional places use. Anyway after having this fish for three weeks he had not eaten anything, not even live brine, frozen foods, algea sheets on a rock etc. etc. Even took him out of quarentine after only a week to put him in the 190 gallon with my majestic angle that eats everythig to see if he could learn to eat foods watching him. He did not, so after three weeks we put him down. I hated to do this but I think he either was caught with cyanide, or may have been damaged from oxygen depletion during shipping. The owner offered my another Goldflake at a discount but I did not want another one like the first so I declined and put another $330 at the above mentioned site and had better luck. Lesley

The bobbing up and down for angels is actually quite common on any size angel. The fish really isn't trying to get oxygen. However, if he didn't use pure O2, i would never order from there again. Pure O2 is the most important part in shipping a fish!!!
