I have a 40 breeder refugium which is 18" wide. I want to put a light over it so I can grow some macro algae on one side of the tank. Which of these two fixtures would be better?

First one is 24 watts but it would fit right over my 18" wide tank perfectly, but it sits about 6" above the top of the tank so the light would not reach down as far.

Second one is 18 watts but i would have to get eggcrate to put over the top of the tank and then place this on there. but it would be closer to the water.

Both same price (32 vs 35). Which would you get?
