I have a 5' 180 gallon predator with a medium sized huma huma, niger, porcupine, lunar wrasse, spotted grouper, spotted hawk, yellow tang, maroon clown, blue damsel and a large volitan. I know someone downsizing to a nano and I was considering his 6"sohal. I have a MR3R skimmer that produces very little skimmate. Since my refugium/DSB has been up and running the nitrates have remained at 0, hence reduced skimmate. We are in the process of selling our home and I am planning on a 10 foot tank from seaaquariums, so he would only be housed in the 180 for 6-9 months, just wanted some input. thanks tommy

I don't know....I have a 4-5" Sohal in my 210, I have a total of 5 fish, 9" Volitan, 5" Emperor, 5" Harlequin tuskfish, and a 1" Yellowtail Damsel, and my Sohal freaks it sometimes. I've had him for 2 months. He hasn't gotten violent yet, but he darts from one ond of the tank to the other in the blink of an eye. Most of the time he's ok, but sometimes I suspect he sees his reflection and goes nuts!
You have guite a few aggressive fish in your tank, and the 180 is not a lot of room for a 6" Sohal. It's a real gamble. I don't think I'd do it.

The present owner has him with several other tangs in a 125. He reports that he is the most non aggressive, chilled Sohal he has seen. He reported that he won't be bullied, but is not aggressive towards his other fish.

Just be careful. You're about to introduce this fish into a new community. IMO what happened in his old tank is irrelevant. Not saying you won't be successful, but your playing with one of the most aggressive fish in the hobby. Good luck.

Yes, let me clarify. I agree, but only if you get a bigger tank later.

Depending on how commonly available sohals are in your area, you may want to wait until after the upgrade.
