Thinking of getting one of these guys for a nano. I have seen some tiny clowns at the local pet store. Just wonder how fast one would grow in my tank?

I always thought it was the other way around. The perculas were meaner in spirit but still lovable and the oscellaris were the nice ones. They get to around three inches or so in length from what I have read all over the place.
I'm just hazarding a guess since all I have ever kept were Perculas.

You could go with a clown goby or neon goby maybe would be a better choice for the 8 gallon tank.

It depends on how much you feed and your water conditions. Most female clowns get aggressive when they hit maturity, this includes both true percs and ocellaris. Either way a 8g tank is too small for any clown.
