Have you try RC sponsor Finsreef. I know Eric and Brian is the distributor for H&S. Give them a call on Monday.... Is it for protein skimmer or just a water pump?

It's for a Deltec skimmer... I emailed them but have not had a response yet.

You may get it for less with H&S aquabee as long as your skimmer doesn't required any special fitting. Is it insump or external? I know the aquabee NW pump cost approx $150 at Finsreef....

Which Deltec if you don't mind me asking?? To be honest, this is one reason I am afraid to think about skimmers with the AB. Are you out of a skimmer at the moment??

What's wrong with your AB pump, might just need cleaning? They're $375 plus s/h/i for the Deltec replacement.

$375? Ouch, more than H&S eheim...

Also, Deltec AB pumps are proprietary so you need to go back to them or an authorized dealer to purchase a replacement. You can't put a H&S AB pump onto a Deltec unit.

Mr J, I haven't heard of a single H&S AB pump go bad in the last year that I've been on the forums. There were a lot of Deltec AB pumps that locked up, but everyone on the Deltec forum says it is improper maintenance.

I dont know whats wrong with it... Im thinking of buying a used skimmer without the pump. Are there other pumps that can be used in the T 1250?

Not really. I wouldn't suggest you buy it w/o the pump, unless you're ready to spend another $400. You can buy a skimmer for $400.

Just personal preference is all. I'm looking for alternatives.

This is getting off track a little, consider the ATi Bubblemaster 160. It's a small footprint and $459 with air draw around 800lph, almost as strong as a Eheim 1260 recirculating needlewheel pump.

You could also buy the DAS bx-1. Its the same skimmer you have but doesn't use the deltec AB. Its just uses a standard AB.

Price: $259.99

Actually I was not really in the market for that skimmer. I just had the chance to pick one up that needed a pump. It would have just sat around in a box and eventually been used for a frag tank or something. I was thinking that I could pick up a pump for the price of a sedra or something.....but I guess not....
