ASOV, Check Valve, or Something Else?

Hi Jim,

Just last week installed that check valve setup per your diagram on my system. I came downstairs this morning and noticed the waste water line running water into the laundry tub drain although the system wasn't used for over a day. I turned off the laundry tub faucet, waited about 15 min. and turned it back on and the waste water stopped. It did it again however later in the day. Is this a bad membrane elbow check valve, the ASOV, or maybe something else?

Howard if you have a tap water pressure of 50 psi or over it most likely is your system not holding pressure and I would suspect your float valve. It may be tettering or fluttering and not making a positive shut off.
