If the product isn't based on Dow Flake, which might be hard to determine, it'd take some expensive testing to determine whether it's appropriate to use in a tank.

Thanks. I've emailed the company for an MSDS sheet, but even that won't completely list impurities. $10 for 4 lbs of 94-97% CaCl caught my attention...

The Dow Flake was actually cheaper, even mail order. I think I was paying around $1.40 per lb, shipped.
