Just as you would with a normal flourescent fixture?

They do have mounting leg brackets available. I think if you just laid across the tank without the legs, the water temp could rise too high. Those lights get hot, and that's probably why most people don't just lay them across the aquarium.

No clarification needed. I was asking based upon normal practice of putting flourescent fixtures directly over a glass canopy.

If the T5s get too hot I will either make legs or suspend them from within the canopy.

Thanks,

I use the tank brackets, but the suspension kit is cheaper.

any and all air movement you can get over those bulbs is for the best i would even reccomend against using the acrylic bulb sheild.

Thanks.

I was not planning on getting the shield but will shell out the dough for a set of the brackets.
