What kind of snails are these and are they reef safe?

The snail is about 2 inches long with a point on the end.

It's a Cerith, and is reef safe. All the snails in this family have that ugly face, sorta visible in the last photo. :)

Most people consider them to be reef safe. However, there are several different genera in the Keyhole Limpet family, Fissurellidae, and their diets vary pretty drastically. Most of the Indo-Pacific species (Diodora) apparently feed primarily on sponges. Some of the others are algae eaters, and some of the Caribbean species eat a lot of different things, including some things that reefers may object to. If you don't see them eating something you don't want them to eat, they are probably OK in your tank.
