I am not sure what to expect as far as time. I just added Chaeto to my sump refugium, it was a pretty good amout, how long does it typically take to have an impact on the nitrates and phophates, and does it reduce it by much?
Jsut curious. I know there is no solid answer but what results have people had.
I added about a 2 gallon bag of it.

Make sure you have some moderate (or slow) flow going through the chaeto. Chaeto is awesome, it will get rid of your nitrates, solve all of your emotional problems that you seek therapy for, and cure cancer.

If you keep it lit and have good flow it will grow pretty fast; give a couple of weeks or harvestings and you should notice a difference.

it you want fast growth of the cheato run the light 24/7--you will notice a big difference.
The other benifit of cheeto is that it helps minimize the nocturnal shift in pH.
