Ok Ok I've got a question..... anybody use limestone to help PH ? and Calacium ? If so let me know your details..... not comfortable putting into my tank but a few have told me its good ?? so whats your take on it ??

Limestone is CaCO3 formed from calcious organisms (corals) many moons ago, allot of people use it as LR, some use it in CaCO3/CO2 reactors, it's ground up for substrates and countless other things in the marine aquarium industry :)

limestone will also keep pH where it needs to be...FWIW it is also commonly used in african cichild tanks for higher pH

It only raises the pH because the neutral water of a freshwater aquarium actually breaks down the limestone and releases calcium and carbonate back in the aquarium, just like in a calcium reactor. Once in a saltwater with a pH of 8.2+ of our reef aquariums, it doesn't break down.
