Since moving into a new house we decided to downsize and simplify our reef aquarium from 75 gallons to 38. My old rock was covered by red flatworms and caulerpa so saved myself some trouble and replaced it with new dead rock from twopartsolution.com - hence the lack of coralline so far. Decided to put the mh pendants in the attic and go with an aquactinics 5x39 watt t5 fixture. Corals definitely have more "pop" to them now. I'm using a cpr bakpak skimmer and I'm pleasantly surprised by how much skimmate it's pulling out. I plan on filling it out with zoanthids, mushrooms, and some ricordea. I currently have a percula clown and royal gramma. I'm thinking about adding one more small fish - maybe a bangaii cardinal. Excuse the green on some the rock; it's not cyano - it was on the rock when it arrived.

Looks good Any other fish beside the RG & Clown? Was part of your downsizing decision made to lower the power bill?

Yes, I suppose the power bill played a role - and it is substantially lower now. The whole system barely uses 300 watts. I think basic simplification was the main motive - no plumbing, chiller (attic), tangled wires, or noise.

Only the gramma and clown right now. Maybe one more fish like a bangaii cardinal.

Looks good. I really like that clam.

Thanks! I'm pleased at how well it's doing under t5s, especially for a crocea. Looks nicer now than it did under 10000k halides.

Thanks everyone for the compliments.

I like the look you have there. That's one heck of a clam man :) I bet it was hard to downsize.
