Depends on the kind of LPS you want to keep. Some do well under very little light, and some do best under 400 watt halides.
What kind are you wanting to keep.

I have the same question. But I seem to have a problem searching forums. My tank is 24" deep so about the same. I originally was thinking 150w, but just seems to low. Ill be keeping LPS, and clams. Scolys, Open brain, maze, candycane, torch, colt coral, a toadstool to name a few plus some clams.

If you're deciding between a 150 and 250 I would go with the 250, because it will give you that extra punch, and it seems like there are more options at the 250 watt level when it comes to kelvin ratings. I would say 250's are probably the most commonly used, especially if you want to do clams.

Thank you, also going with 250's will give me the ability to go SPS if I want to in the future without having to worry about upgrading and what not.
