Please ID this animal. Is it good or bad?

can you tell us a bit about it? is it hard or soft? does it move? how fast does it move?

It's a chiton in the genus Cryptoplax. There are several species that can show up on live rock. They're all micrograzers and harmless.

it reminded me of a chiton but ive never seen one so elongated... cool find. i wish i got some cool hitchers on my rock... all i ever get is aiptasia and hydroids... whoop dee freakin doo.
