i put my new skimmer in new salt water it works fine. i put it in tank water no bubbles and bubbles escaping out of exit pipe. skimmer same level in both situations. done 50 gal water change in fish tank thinking that salts content was wrong still nothing. i noticed something wrong with pump (one of the black spacers, the one in front, burnt out and had plastic on the ceramic shaft) cleaned and still the same good in new salt water s.g. 1.026 and no bubbles in tank water s.g. 1.0253.
