I have a sailfin tang and several corals. I have heard conflicting stories about putting two different tangs in the same tank. Any advice?

yes in your 55 he would be the only tang for that tank. He will quickly outgrow it to, if feed right.

Melev has 2 tangs and a blue angel in his 55 gallon, I think he should be able to also heh?

If Marc does in fact have that combo in a 55g tank, that's his businss. I'll assume he knows it is temporary, he knows how to keep excellent water quility with large, growing, pooping fish, and he has a plan of what to do with them as they outgrow the tank.

The OP, on the other hand, is a "rookie" and so I don't think it is responsible to recommend adding any tangs to his tank.

You can generally mix Tangs in a system but to do so is dependent on the size of the tank. I agree with SDguy. Its not a good idea to add another.
