How do you remove the impeller on a Coralife SS65

Im doing my first cleaning of the pump, and I cant seem to get the impeller out.

I see the needles on a wheel, with a white center shaft.

I tried pulling on the white shaft and lifting by the wheel, it wiggles but will not move.

any help is appreciated ASAP.
