View Full Version : Ph probe in Ca reactor effluent?

I have a Ph controller, and an older Calcium reactor that does not have a built in probe holder inside the reactor. I'm going to need to rig up some sort of cup to catch the reactor effluent and place the probe in it.
Anyone designed, built or purchased something that will do this neatly?
Thanks!!

I don't know about neatly, but I've seen friends hang a plastic measuring cup on the side of their sump and have their probe in that.

Get a large Lee's Specimen Container like the LFS puts fisn in when they net them and before they bag them. It hangs on the side and overflows into the sump. I cut a strip of acrylic about 2" wide and long enough to reach across the sump, then drilled a 5/8" hole in it to suspend the probe over the container. Works like a charm!

I just hung a 50mL conical tube on the side of my sump. Perfect and compact.

I'd just use a small measuring cup hung on the side of the sump.

Even things as simple as leftover tubes from test kits or even the empty Aquamend tube will work.
