I have read through the write ups, but I am having trouble netting out what the key differences between the ACIII and ACIII Pro are.

What is it about the ACIII Pro that makes it worth the extra $250?

Nevermind. I found this: http://www.neptunesys.com/comparison.htm

However, opinions from people using these would be appreciated.

I went with ac3 because I am not interested to monitor dissolved 02 or conductivity on my tank. That's all my decision came down to. Plus, the 20 or so devices controllable by ac3 is more than plenty for me.

FYI the dissolved 02 probe is really expensive....($449.00) I'm not sure why you'd need it. I don't know too many people that have 02 problems with the size of our skimmers these days along with amount of flow we have.....

I suppose the conductivity might be nice but I have an ATO so my SG stays pretty consistent.

I think the ACIII is a lot of bang for the $$

I think the dissolved O2 would be good if you are using ozone, but I don't know about the $449 price tag.

Thanks for the feedback. I will likely be dusting off my wallet (like any dust ever settles when reefing) and get the ACIII soon.

I went AC3P mostly for the built in server, I haven't started to really configure much of anything, thought I'd start after I got settled in at/with school this semister...

ACIII has the built in browser. What is the built in server?

I'm very very jealous! I need one.

p.s. Your ph is low.

My pH is ~7.9 every night/ morning - up to 8.4/.5 daily. No worries :)

I thought it was a server.... I can access it quite well without my pc on, rather seamless in many aspects.... I still hard-wired it though... I did't want to mess around with all those wireless troubles everyone seams to be having...

I will someday take advantage of the extended features...

One step at a time.

The ACIII also includes a webserver (http://www.neptunesys.com/products.htm)

I bought the ac3 pro for 2 reasons. 1) more external switches, and timer names. I didn't want to run out. 2) I run my skimmer on the wet side. If it happens to run excessively if something dies in the tank, the skimmer shuts off. I have auto top off right from the rodi, so I can easilly kill the salinity if the skimmer goes haywire.

If cond < XXXX then SKM OFF
