I have just received my new lights from reefgeek.com and I am planning on putting them on the tank in a few days. I got (2) 250 watt halide units consisting of ReefOptix 3 reflectors, icecap ballasts and Phoenix 14K bulbs. The question I am asking is how do you guys who have halide pendants have your lights positioned above your tanks? Are the reflectors positioned parallel (option 1) or perpendicular (option 2) to your tanks. I always assumed that they would be hung parallel, but after turning the lights on and seeing the light spread on the bare floor, it seems that the light would cover better being hung perpendicular.
