Im making a sump/refuge out of a 30g glass aquarium my question to you is for glueing acrylic baffles to the glass will the aquarium safe silicoone that you buy at home depot do the job? or what shoudl i use?

I used gel super glue to put them in place. Then went back with aquarium silicone, and its held up great.

I would leave a 1/16" - 1/8" gap on either side. The acrylic will expand as it absorbs water and could break the tank wall.

Silicone does not stick to acrylic. So you need to rough the edges up to create a gripping area. A bead on either side will stick to the glass and keep the acrylic from moving.

Is there a reason you are not using glass baffles? They will only cost a few bucks that the hardware or big box store.
