Will a plate coral do good under standard AquaPod lighting? I can get a great deal on one. It will only be for a couple months if I purchase one anyway. My other tank should be set up fully by spring with metal halide or high output.

I would be careful with high wattage metal halides. Had 2x 250 MHs over an 55 gallon tank and struggled with a nice orange plate that basically declined over time even when I had it partially shaded. Also struggled with an bubble coral , it did better under power compacts.

Fungia don't need high light. If you believe the light isn't sufficient feed more frequently than you normally would. I have the JBJ Viper 150 and feed every day (mostly because I have to feed some azoox corals and always have extra). My plate loves the food and it's fun to watch him eat it.
