Thanks.

Very please by how well he's eating. He even chases Formula Two flakes around the tank now.

I just got my Regal 2 days ago. I know they are very picky eaters. how long did it take for the Regal to even think about eating?

All I see him do is pick at rocks once in a while. The tank has a good number of Zoos in it. He hasn't even gone for those yet.

Here is how I feed:

Mornings: (whenever I remember)
1/2 cube Spirulina
Pinch of Prime Reef Flake
Soaked in gVh and a quarter garlic.

During the day:
2x3 sheet of Nori

Evenings
1 teaspoon Arcti-Pods
1/2 cube Spirulina
1/2 cube Mini Mysis
1/4 cube Cyclops
1/4 cube Coral Food
DT's Oyster Eggs (2x week)
1 Pump Liquid Life Bio-Plankton
1 Pump Liquid Life Marine Plankton
1/2 teaspoon ZoPlan
Soaked in gVh and a quarter Garlic

I hate to hijack your thread. But any help is appreciated.

Thank you

No problem at all. Congrats on the fish!

Thats a lot of food :)

I observed mine eating frozen mysis at the LFS before purchasing him. He was eating them the next day in my tank. Thankfully, he seems to have adapted very well and quickly.

It was mentioned to me when I purchased him that if he didn't seem to be eating to try the half shell clams as he believed the smell of them excited him into eating. I purchased some along with him and although they weren't "needed" he devours them as you can see above.

Have you seen this thread? http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=758598 Lots of Regal talk there.

One thing I noticed in the thread was someone who enticed theirs to eat by attaching / wedging food into crevices in the live rock. Perhaps that may help you also.

Coolguy818 try clams

Won't it get used to eating clams, and start chowing down on my Larger Clams?

They naturally eat clams. You may have a problem with that eventually anyway once he becomes comfortable.

I read once about one eating brownish clams and not blu/purpleish specimens. And as always its a roll of the dice. I hear all the time about them always eating zoos also but mine hasn't shown much interest in my zoos at all yet. I hope he stays that way.

If your fish decides to survive, those clams are gone.
