Ok so I'm building a two tank system one is a mantis coral tank(2.5 gallon) and the other is a fuge tank. Both these tank are display tanks. they are both connected together and then connected to a cannister filter. So it goes from the cannister to the first tank(mantis) then the second tank(fuge) then back to the cannister filter. So it has a double filtration system. I was wondering If I could maybe put a fish in the fuge tank? All thats going to be going in that tank is a little live rock(1lb) then different kind of cheato seagrass etc.

You could do a small goby, such as a trimma or neon goby. I am cycling a 2.5g right now specifically for my neon goby (he's being picked on by my tailspot)

maybe a little clown goby will be alright in there

How big is the refugium tank? I doubt I'd put a fish into a tank that small. A shrimp might be okay, if you don't mind the animal eating copepods, etc.

No way. A six-line gets far too big for a 2.5 g tank, and that's assuming this refugium is the same size as the display.
