my true perc is spilting food

My question is my true perc eats but spilt it out everytime. I tried Mysis and brime shrimp. He does the same thing. I have it for a week now. What can I do? He will chase the food, eat and spilt it out.

If it's only been one week he still may be stressing a bit from the move - maybe try something like cyclo-peeze that is a bit smaller and a little more managable? You may need to just try different foods until he finds something he likes - or try mashing up what you have into smaller pieces? Are there other fish in the tank competing for food or is it just him?

He is in QT now with a smaller true perc ( supposely a pair and he is eating) and a golden butterfly which eats a lot.
