Is it ok to touch the glass on SE bulbs? I know you shouldn't on DE but what about SE?

I wouldnt. I dont know for sure, why risk it. I use disposable rubber gloves.

i wouldn't, if you get fingerprints on there, just clean them off with some microfiber towels

Um, they might be hot! :D
Seriously, you can touch them but clean them off with some vinegar and water to remove any grease from your fingers!

i work for an electrical companyand the rule is never touch the glass of any halide bulb. always use gloves and if you do touch it definatly clean it off before turning it back on.

I touch mine all of the time, sometimes they get splashed with water and build salt creep on them. They are much more durable than some think. 4 bulbs all with a year and a half on them. I wouldn't touch DE though.

can they crack from the oils in your hands being on them?

I just use a paper towel to handle them.

I touch my SE bulb and never clean them off. Never even thought that touching it would bother it.

A little bit of saltwater spray doesn't do much to them so I doubt fingerprints are that harmful......but do try to keep them clean to maximize the light from them
