Adhesive(sealant) for sump

I am building a melev style sump out of acrylic and a 30 gallon long tank. Will silicone stick to acrylic or is there another sealer I should use. Please tell me what you guys used.

I used aquarium silicone between acrylic and glass. I found I needed to use a fine sandpaper on the edges of the acrylic to get rid of the shine.

silicone will simply not stick to acrylic long term, especially if there is pressure fr0om varying deopths of water on both sides

But it will still work. You need to make walls out of silicone on each side of your acrylic baffle to hold it in place......if it isnt completely water tight you can go back over it later with a little more to fill up the gaps, and a little bit of leakage is usually a non issue in concern to sump baffles anyway
