Ok so i was lookin at my tank and i notcied a metal screw lying on the sand. i have a scribbled foxface, 2 bangaii cardinals, 2 percs, goby, open brain, frog spawn, mushroom and zoas. i dont want it to kill anything so i was wondering how bad it is because i lost it in the sand bed and have NO clue where it went I NEED HELP!

Try to rake your sand with your fingers and try to find it . Then do a water change. Or if you could get one of those cat litter scoops with the slots in them use that. Dont use a used one though.

You could also try a magnet assuming the screw is magnetic.

you may want to run carbon for a little while too just in case

Yes I would. You should have a general idea of where it is. And like ludnix said try a magnet. if you have a mag float try that.

I doubt it came from any of your fish. Even if it did most fish can survive if they are only missing one screw.
Seriously I wouldn't worry too much but I would try to get it out. I would suggest the magnet. If it is of such high quality stainless steel that it is not magnetic it probably wouldn't cause problems being buried in the sand. Of course until the sand is disturbed.
