I took 3/16" rigid plastic tubing and cut it into pieces that were about 1/2" long. I then fit them like a sleeve on the metal stem of the prop. Now there is no more more noise from the prop being pushed forwad striking the housing. I use 4X #4's on my 180 Reef. They are hooked up to a Red Sea Wavemaster Pro.

Thats the problem.. The pumps prop lifts up out of the housing and drops back in because thats how it corrects itself if it starts the wrong way.. They are made to do this.. If you restrict the prop from resetting itself it will spin the wrong way about 50% of the time..

A seio controller is your best bet for a wavemaker for these kind of pumps..

Yeah, that is whay I had to play with the lenght of the sleve. Give or take a couple of ". Mine have enough play to let the prop pop out and correct it's self with out hitting the housing. I have not had had any problems with it spinning backwards.

O.K. With out the use of a micrometer, I'm using a piece that is 1/8" (give or take) long. Like I said, it is just enough to let the prop spin with out touching the housing. It lets the magnet pop out and correct again to get a consitant forward flow. (and the cut was done with a regular pair of scisors) not a clean straight cut.

Yes. I'm not the greatest of tech guys and I have tried uploading photos before but have taken to much space (mind you, I'm talking ONE pic). I'm going to try it again with the help of my friend and get some pics.
